this is so confusing im on my laptop (windows) and i tried opening the game and it says that liar liar.exe is missing and ive tried downloading this before and it said the same thing i dont know how to fix this.
this same thing happened to me but theres a way to fix it. go to "system preferences" (it looks like a gear or settings) and click "privacy & security" in the "general" tab. Open the game and the message you just had should appear. it will say "'(game in question)' was blocked from opening because its not from an identified developer" click "open anyway" it will ask you if you are sure you want to open it, click yes or open anyway (make sure its not cancel because I kept on doing that lol). Once that is done click your lock to make changes. Apple will ask you for your apple password as safety precautions. Once that is do you should be able to play.
I appreciate your help but sadly it didn't work. It's like it tries to open but then immediately closes, but thanks for your advice! I managed to do that with some other games and it worked so thank you.

have yet to play this game but i love how bright everything looks, its a nice contrast with the story about murder! the characters look cute and feel pretty real, i also like how happy and cheerful yukari is, even when shes gonna kill someone, the different options i like to, great job!

I have an unofficial download of WineSkin. What is does is to port .exe files into "skins" you can use on Mac. It's a bit complicated to explain, but you can search it up. It is unofficial, and I got mine from GitHub, so you should probably scan all downloads before installing. Wine does that too, but makes it into an actual Mac usable file, and it's quite gigantic and annoying so I got WineSkin.
I'm definitely not asking you to get some random download off the internet for one game, but on itch.io, Mac support for games is limited since not everyone has one/wants to buy one.
However, if you do encounter any problems again for any game you really want to play, you can try the things I listed above.

This game was recommended to me by a friend when I mentioned I was getting into visual novels. It was pretty fun, but it just being a test-run shows. There are a significant amount of typos, the plot is-- as described by the creator, shallow, the art is a bit lazily done (character sprites are incomplete below the dialogue box) and it'd be fine if it didn't show every time a new scene generated.
Because it's free and short, I think it was worth the play. I laughed at a few parts and enjoyed it.
This game is better than what I expected. I love the art style and the plot is really interesting (I see that Yukari like KAM lmao). Good ending is so adorable <
well, my fluent language is not english which makes it difficult to understand so i am translating the game into my language! but I would like your permission to do that... (I speak in Portuguese Brazil)

I'm having issues opening this on my mac. Whenever I try to open it it says

And when I right click to open it and click open again it opens for a second and then disappears.
